The Chattanooga Coffee Company understands that the promise of distinctive coffee begins at the harvest. As roasters we select beans from proven international growers with reputations for quality and integrity.
Once our premium raw beans arrive from ports around the world the art and science of roasting begins. The coffee roaster has the ultimate responsibility for gaining a balanced, mature, and satisfying coffee flavor from these beans.
The Chattanooga Coffee Company roasts 100% Arabica beans and is dedicated to achieving the release of maximum flavor and the retention of maximum caffeine while perserving the unique characteristics of each bean. In order to achieve this result, most CCC coffee is roasted to a medium roast level known as Full City. The result is coffee flavor that is as unique as the hillsides of the countries of their origins.
Bringing each coffee to life is our mission. The actual roasting process varies throughout the year depending on outdoor temperatures, humidity levels, and the aging of the beans themselves. In addition, each new year produces a new crop of beans that can alter the tastes of our coffee. Like wine, the quality of coffee we drink depends on the quality of the bean harvest from year to year.
The roaster of the Chattanooga Coffee Company was manufactured in Spain in 2002 by Roure, Inc. It was custom built for our fledgling company and was selected because of its heavy-duty industrial make-up and appearance. It's small, but it's the real thing!
Once the beans have been carefully roasted the coffee must be carefully prepared for your cup. Our daily commitment to the highest possible standards of brewing and extracting coffee insure that we get the best coffee beverage from our fresh-roasted beans whether it's simply brewed coffee or a more elaborate espresso drink.
